CSMP Takes on The Presidents Cup
As the biennial Presidents Cup golf tournament descended upon Charlotte’s Quail Hollow Club last week, CSM Production was never too far away from the action.
Working directly with both the United States and International Team Presidents Cup Captains, Production built out the two team rooms in Uptown Charlotte’s Westin hotel that served as a gathering place for each team off the course. Featuring two distinct and unique atmospheres, the team rooms featured amenities including putting greens, ping pong tables, bars, and even a gym. Victorious United States captain Davis Love III, a veteran of 10 Presidents Cups, remarked that the team rooms were the best he’d ever seen.
Across the street from the Westin, Production was also responsible for creating a Presidents Cup “fan experience” for those who couldn’t make it down to Quail Hollow. Featuring Presidents Cup logoed soft-seating and a giant LED screen, the viewing experience also included multiple “instagrammable” moments with a giant mural on the backside of the LED screen and an oversized 3D Presidents Cup trophy.
Additionally, Production partnered with the Presidents Cup and Charlotte’s Atrium Health to bring a two-hole “miniature golf” course to the Levine Children’s Hospital in Uptown Charlotte. The putting course was a full-team effort from Production and involved creative design and custom fabrication of child-friendly themed “props,” installation of the course, as well as working with a local artist to create “larger-than-life” wall mural that serves as a backdrop of the putting course. This putting course appeared on multiple local news outlets throughout Presidents Cup week.
On-course, Production was responsible audio production on the first tee, and the creation of signage for the AJGA’s Junior Presidents Cup, which took place at nearby Myers Park Country Club.
